We've always been lost in our lives, somewhere, somehow.

Being lost is definately natural, and it is easy to get lost, but difficult to be found. We can just walk around and around and then poof! We're lost. But it takes a bold third party to find the lost one and bring him/her back to normal.

And then finally, the lost one would have to get used to another way of life, another way of living, and it wouldn't be so easy.

So who would we be? Who MUST we be? The one to help, or the one who gets lost?

We all have our own part to play in this world.

94th Movement

My band finally has a name! And the good thing is that it is a name that is easy to remember...

COMMON FACTOR
(Credits to Master Chia)

So I asked Master Chia about where he got that name from, and he said he got it from a MATHS TEXTBOOK. o__0 But what the hell, it's a nice name anyway, after all, Jazz band names aren't very fancy shmancy like "Panic! at the Disco" or "All American Rejects" (I once tried to make a band called "All EMP Rejects" after I didn't make it through EMP auditions).

So we got a name, now we get the songs and Master Chia (Being the master) has ordered us to play the song titled "There Will Never be Another You". Short song for some warm-up Jazz feel while Charlene (our vocalist) chose the song titled "Love Song" by Sara Bareilles, even though it ain't Jazz the band says they will make it Jazz. I wonder how.

And yeah, for a little bit more information, Jazz actually means sex. You saw it, SEX. It was a slang for the sex, I don't know why but in the past when they said people were "Jazzing" upstairs it meant er...you know what.

Interesting, eh? The first jamming session wasn't much of a jamming, since only me and the keyboardist plus Master Chia were there. But we got some things settled, so tomorrow will be another session, we'll see how it goes.

I'll be trying to print the PP posters later, my presentation is this Friday (with Nasrin =])!!!

And by the looks of two critical reviews, I think my script is coming nicely...but I'm still having doubts about the things I write...whether I should really do it or not. Will talk about it under FYP ADVENTURES some other time.

Report on FREE HUGS CAMPAIGN on Friday, 24th October 2008

Hug-a-meter: 0

Conclusion: Singaporeans are still not ready for opening up, but will do again next week. =P

So anyway, after I reached Church, I went to flip the sign around and wrote "SMILE" on it. It seemed to be more effective than "FREE HUGS". It was so effective that two people saw my sign and they turned from a frown to a smile and a whole group of Secondary School kids all smiled and laughed after they saw the sign. Sure, I may look like an idiot but at least I brightened up someone's day!

And by the way, some girl took a picture of me. How I know this? Hint: she had her flash turned on and I could lip read her "oh shit".

And remember I said on Hari Raya that Shaz and Alex created armies on my Soulstorm. So here is my story for it =]

The year is 2123, and the world is plunged into chaos. Human government is corrupt and the Inquisition wrongly accuses people for blasphemous claims against the Immortal Emperor.

Frustrated and tormented, local militia have taken up arms against the corrupt government in the Middle East and Asia. Led by ex-commando/governer Alex Raphael, the militia called themselves the 31st Infantry Battalion and took over control of the lands near Southeast Asia and half the Middle East.

With the intense situation going on, no one knew what was underneath the Earth's surface. A huge amount of metal called Barbienium was rich in the Earth's core and when the Hydra Canon (the Superweapon of the 31st Infantry Battalion) drilled a hole into the core, the Barbienium exploded silently, awakening the sleeping Necron in there. The Barbienium reacted with the metal of the Necrons, and thus making them pink in color. The Necron Lord raised its army in Central Germany, leaving pink paths in its wake. Because of the location they were found at, they were called the Legion of the Kahn.

In quick succession, seeing the 31st Infantry Battalion struggling against the might of the Legion, the army in high orbit landed onto Earth, making their base camp in Finland and Japan. Celestial Being, as they were called, were considered as the "watchers" of Earth. They declared themselves neutral until 2132, when the Legion first appeared. They kept the Necrons at bay and were attacked by the 31st Infantry Battalion when a few squads of Celestial Being gunners shot down civillians via orbital cannons.

The battle continues, the liberation or domination of Earth begins.

92nd Movement

I finally have a band to call my own.

I thought I could have my own band, playing the saxophone, with Undressing the Naked (TOG and WOW's band). But they're weren't willing to make a breakthrough, and the worst part was that they never tried.

Now Jammerz Arena has done something I want, something I dreamt of. Even though I won't be rocking with a saxophone, I'll be jazzing with it, and that alone is worth the time. If the one side of my life can't offer it to me, I'll do it on the other side of my life.

I just want to be like Wilfred, playing different instruments (main: Soprano Saxophone) in a band. I don't mind playing a tambourine if I get to play my saxophone, but if my main instrument was the tambourine, forget it. Because playing a tambourine is like a basic skill, but playing the saxophone is more than just technique, it's about feel, it's about emotion and love with between the player and the instrument.

Oh, and about tomorrow, I'm going to do something special. I got this idea from Qane on Monday, who did FREE HUGS CAMPAIGN at Causeway Point. I'm going to make a FREE HUGS poster and then walk from AMK MRT to CTK Church with it. I'll see who wants a hug, so anyone who wants to see me just check me out there, every Friday. =]

Justin's idea of fun:
Have fun, just don't hurt anyone

Singapore's idea of fun:
Have fun, just don't hurt anyone. It must also reflect that Singapore is the best place to live in and not defame its reputation. Not to mention the amount of fun must be half the amount of work you have done in the day and the fun you have must also allow you to think creatively so that you will become a great doctor/entrepreneur/lawyer/thinker/teacher/scientist/professor/Minister of Parliament etc. Also, your fun must abide by the laws of Singapore and the rules of the educational institution or the workplace organisation you are in. Your fun must also not exceed 60 dB and not past 11pm if you are under 16.

A friend once asked me, "What do you consider a true friend?"

"Well," I answered, "to me, a true friend is someone who:

1) Understands you for who you are
2) After that accepts you for who you are
3) Calls you out because he wants to and not because he has to
4) For example, if he finds that there's something wrong with me he'll try and ask me what's wrong in the week rather than not talk to me at all and wait for the next session that we're meeting up to ask
5) Understands your insecurities and fears
6) Supports your dreams and ambitions and will do whatever he can to help
7) Doesn't treat you like a psychologist
8) Yet tells you his problems and not hide anything from you, even if he's in love with your girlfriend
9) Who is daring enough to tell you when you can lose hope and when you can't
10) Someone who needs you in his life

The list could go on, but this is what I gather =]

Today Republic Polytechnic actually blocked ALL entrances except the South Agora, then they took attendance of the students there. Like what the hell, and later they're gonna have a thermometer checking session (or is temperature checking session?). I didn't bring a thermometer, so? Throw me home! Hahahaha.

Anyway, I'm running very little space on my laptop now, I can't download Hellgate London because I need space to defragment my laptop. I want Warcraft 3 instead, it's much smaller (Hellgate London is 6.66 GB).

Soooooo...I haven't bought a new Xbox 360 game in ages (and Edward asked me to get Xbox Live, I haven't done it yet), so I'm considering this:

This is another installment for Sonic, this is Sonic:Unleashed, and it sure is a psycho killer game. The speed is so entirely fast that it could give me headaches, even NFS doesn't go this fast. The best part is that they have added a "Dynasty Warriors" feel to it. Watch the video and you'll know what I mean.

So...Sonic:Unleashed seems a good deal, but I'll have to consider it first, because it is a new game so it could be quite an expensive title to buy.

Youth Rally is over, and finally I can focus more on the CC1's Bible Night.

The performance was great, the Sec 3s were very responsive and it felt more of a rock concert than a rally. I mean, this is my first Youth Rally ever since my Confirmation in er...Sec 4 (2006, I think)?

Of course, I have many stories to tell about the Youth Rally, like how everyone was screaming "ONE WAY" after the worship leaders wanted to leave the stage (for those who do not know, ONE WAY is a song meant for praise and worship). In the end, the worship team did not play it, but half the crowd sang it themselves after they left.

During the exposing of the Blessed Sacrament, the priest walked past a bunch of kids, and this girl kept on screaming after that until the priest left the hall with the Blessed Sacrament. This drew a lot of murmurs and whispers within the crowd, I didn't see who it was or what happened, I just prayed for her that very night (Saturday, to be exact).

Our performance drew some activity from the audience, most of them got up and danced and sang to the beat of "Umbrella" at the start (lyrics changed). I couldn't see if they were jumping at the last song but they sure were screaming.

Overall, it made me feel 16 again (I know it's only 2 years apart)! I have never ever ever been to a Youth Rally before so this experience is definately worth the time! =]

85th Movement

Sometimes it's exciting to see the trees bend back and forth, swaying to a rhythm designed in your mind. Trees are marvelous beings, they stand so sturdy and straight without needing any source of technology at all.

I think because of the environment they live in, it has made them tough, trained to withstand the wind and the rain, the storm and anything that tries to destroy it naturally.

I think that is how we humans have to act.

We have to face the troubles life throws at us because that is how life is, what is life without a single obstacle? We have to stand firm against the wind, the storm and make sure we are still standing upright and firm after that.

Then there is another story:

There was once a bunch of trees, so close together that their leaves were overlapping each other's. One day, a single tree decided to journey out, to venture forth away from its own community, so it eventually found its way out of the bunch and rooted itself far away.
It wasn't long before a storm came, and it was so strong that it uprooted the single tree in the field.
But the trees that were still in a bunch were hanging strong, losing only a few leaves in the process. They still stood firm and steady, and the fallen tree regretted in dismay.

Easy to pick out the moral: We cannot survive by ourselves in this world, we need the help of other people. We need community, friends, family, anyone whom we can trust and rely on. With them, any storm that comes by will be long forgotten.

Saturday Night Fever

Started with a fight, started with doubts
Went on through the night, had another fight
But it was music that brought us back together
It was the choir and the lovely violin that made us realize that arguments are not worth it
A walk to your home
Embraced with a hug, sealed with a kiss
quarreled and reconciled within a night

And didn't go for mass today, I have sinned.

Being different is not so hard
be someone like Bonaparte
Commit a Holocaust or two
Follow with a Black Plague through and through

But being a different and good
Is harder than wood
Be nice to someone
And you're the black one

They think they're all white
They think they're nothing like night
You just have to wait and see
Time, to them, will no longer be free

But coming again
Don't bother the rhymes
Just be yourself
Because YOU are different

Perhaps love is like a resting place
A shelter from the storm
It exists to give you comfort
It is there to keep you warm
And in those times of trouble
When you are most alone
The memory of love will bring you home

Oh, love to some is like a cloud
To some as strong as steel
For some a way of living
For some a way to feel
And some say love is holding on
And some say letting go
And some say love is everything
And some say they don`t know

82nd Movement

I was washing my brother's army boots yesterday, got them sunk in the mud like last week.

And I really was wondering a lot of things when I washed them, and then you'll go like "JUSTIN!!! WHY IN THE WORLD ARE YOU THINKING SOOOOO MUCH WHEN YOU'RE WASHING ARMY BOOTS???"

Well, it's not my mind, it belongs to God, so He can do whatever He wants to do with it. But in this case, He made me think.

SAF boots are made in a very special way: when they get sunk into mud, you wash them and with the water on, it looks very clean and black, no stains at all. But when the sun dries everything up, the mud stains appear on it, showing its true colors.

So now, what's it got to do with anything? Come on, doesn't it remind you of something?

Alright, I'll say it. It reminded me of how life is (like DOH!)

We humans always try new means and ways to cover up our evil and bad past (or habits) and use "water" to make sure that no one sees it. The problem is, when the sun comes up, the water dries up, and everything will be (literally in some sense) brought to light.

So what do we have to do in order to change our lives?

That's easy, Justin here is offering you a remedy, a lifetime cure to lead a new life!

Here it is: WASH YOUR BOOTS

It isn't difficult, just take your boots, and scrub them for a day or two. In life, it may take more than a day or two. IT could take a year, or a few in fact. But the main focus is to wash away those evil and bad things that have made your life so miserable and dirty. That is the only way to come out of your closet without shame.

So, please, stop spraying water on your boots, go and WASH them.

81st Movement

Today (Barney voice, imagine it), we are going to talk about the MEDIA!!!

Yes, the media is a wonderful thing isn't it? It tells us what's happening around the world, what's good and what's bad and what is the best thing to do during your free time! The media in Singapore especially is what drives youths forward, to expand their creativity and in turn make Singapore a better place and a Global City for the Arts!!! So everyone, let's ALL thank PAP for the wonderful use of the MEDIA!!!

***k you (takes off Barney suit).

If the media ever tells happy things in one night, I'd say Singapore is the place to be. Global City of the Arts? PUI!!!

It's not that I'm criticising the media, or anything related to it. It's just that it's very very restricting. Lust/Caution was an R21 movie, but because of MDA, it turned into an NC16 movie. Bullshit, seriously.

The media portrays certain elements that makes it very influential, movies are one of them. Kids nowadays get their school's worth from movies, from the TV. You bring a kid to watch Mission Impossible 3 and the scene where Tom Cruise makes love to er...I can't remember her name, but he makes love to her in the hospital and they're going to ask a gazillion questions. If you don't answer, two kids of opposite sex may even try it out.

Bringing it to the next level, Sense of Home: the Anthology series (first series to be ever filmed entirely overseas...like WO~~~W...sorry for being bimbotic) is another way of MDA to show Singaporeans that Singapore is the one and only place for you. To me, it is PROPOGANDA!!! They're trying to influence young minds to STAY in Singapore, why? Because Singapore talents are running off to places mentioned in the series! Venice, China...etc.

Now, come back to the kids level. The internet now is the most dangerous tool ever, you can actually do almost ANYTHING if you knew how to. An article was posted on the notice board at the Church of St. Anthony of Padua, talking about how a girl learnt about sex at age 12, after that having her first intercourse at 13 (or 14). How did she learn about it? This will shock you: she GOOGLED it.

Now, we can't blame the internet for being such a vice, after all, if we were to take these privileges away, we would probably have more unhappiness then ever. The problem lies with what the parents are doing and what schools and the MEDIA is doing. Parental control and school discipline is another argument for another time.

If you've read all the way down here, you probably have the same sentiments as me or you just think what I say is either interesting or true. If you are a PAP supporter/member or an MP, then I'd say you are ready to screw me.

I hope I don't appear in the papers for this. =$

80th Movement

Elaine called me yesterday after soccer, and it was regarding the RCIY thing.

I MSNed Lois last week about me joining RCIY, and Elaine replied yesterday. She was the head of RCIY and she raised concerns about me having two youth groups.

She didn't seem to doubt my juggling of time, but what she was concerned about was me not putting RCIY as a priority. After all, RCIY isn't just a Youth Group, it's a journey for God. She raised the question of "What if TOG and RCIY have events that clashed?"

Obviously I still want to be in TOG, but life is made in a way that you can't have your cake and eat it too. If I missed a single event for RCIY, it could affect the journey of a Neophyte, but if I missed a single event for TOG, I may not be able to answer to Kevin and Gerri.

Ultimately, I want to remain in TOG. I feel that my call is there, to suffer and to serve with Theatre. So I should tell Lois or Elaine that I can't go over, TOG is my life.

Oh yeah, on another note, I wanted to play Diablo 3, to try it out but from the stories I heard from first hand experience, it ain't that safe. But what the hell. If you don't get what I'm saying, see this:

This is Tyrael

Tyrael is an Archangel who rebelled against heaven in order to teach the Horadrim how to seal the Prime Evils's souls into soulstones, thereby trapping them for eternity. He is captured by Baal after he fails to stop Diablo from releasing Baal and eventually freed by the adventurer. He comes back when the adventurer reaches the Pandemonium Fortress, the last bastion before Hell, to offer his protection.

Literally like the Prodigal Son, but nonetheless teaching a bit of bad values.

And they use many demonic names like Mephisto, Baal and Diablo (literally Italian for Devil), these are the names I found so far, but I guess there are many other names that reflect the demons of hell.

Gameplay wise, I'd never seen anything like it. In Diablo 3, you can literally use only the mouse to play, and it ain't that hard. Spell casting wise, will soon get the hang of it.

I'll try Diablo 2 first (because Diablo 3 isn't out for downloading yet!), and see how it goes. If you find me insane or abnormal, please tell me and hack into my laptop to delete Diablo. Thanks! =]

"Great Escape"

For the scene where Sarah runs away from home

Second time I'm uploading this video:

"What Sarah Said"

For the scene where the friend is singing about his dead sister, also named Sarah

I've come up with some characters for my musical, and it's very very hard for me to think of all of them because I've never been through this before. Like what my mother said, it would be easier to do something lively and happy, since that's how I am, but what's the whole point of being happy in this demented world of ours? Fix the problem first, then we can be happy...

Anyway, here are the characters so far:

Sarah, 18

Sarah is going through a rough patch in her life, her parents are going through a major argument and her boyfriend that she loves very much turns out to be a jerk. confused, she runs away from home to find some refuge from her twisted life.

(Un-named Friend, for convenience's sake, David for now) Soul Friend, 22

David is like any other 22 year-old, it's just that he doesn't have a job, and knows he has a short time to live, the illness was passed on from his parents and it took away his sister 3 years ago. All he wants to do is to do as much as he can before his time runs out.

And then obviously there are the PARENTS and FRIENDS (Ensemble)

If there is anyone who wants to be a part of this, please be able to commit the whole of next year, I cannot work with people who wants to leave halfway or works with a half-hearted er...heart.

If you want to be a part of it, please leave your name and contact (if you're someone I know, don't bother leaving contact) under the COMMENTS section of this post. Thanks!!!

FYP adventures

My main song for the musical, a musical of hurt.

When you were born into this world
Your mom and dad saw a dream fulfilled
Dream come true, the answer to their prayers

You were to them a special child
Gave 'em joy every time you smiled
Each time you cried, they're at your side to care

Child, you don't know, you'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you here

How many seasons came and went
So many years have now been spent
For time ran fast and now at last you're strong

Now what has gotten over you
You seem to hate your parents too
Do speak out your mind, why do you find them wrong

Child you don't know, you'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you near

And now your path has gone astray
Child you ain't sure what to do or say
You're so alone, no friends are on your side

And child you now break down in tears
Let them drive away your fears
Where must you go, their arms stay open wide

Child you don't know, you'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you here

Child you don't know, you'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you live

79th Movement

This is a painting done by renown painter Piet Mondrian, the artist whom almost everyone regards as a painter who paints without feelings.

True, I can't get any feeling through this painting, who can? o__0

But what struck me were the colours that were around it...the red and the yellow are all stuck in their own squares, big and huge.

But look at the blue and the small strip of red at the side, so small yet it has bridged many lines (the red strip continues on to another painting)!

That's how life is going to be, the small will do great things but the great and huge cannot do anymore but stay and wait in their own little squares (LOSERS). The red and the yellow squares are so...caught up with themselves that they don't move out, they don't shrink (humble) themselves so that they can help other people or expand their might. Because of other people's pressure and problems, they become stuck.

But the smallest person, the little blue strip can, with his tiny ego and little acts of kindness, bridge many lines (human problems) across and fnally will make everything perfect again. =]

Right, I'm a psycho.

Random tune

I overshot Woodlands today and went to Marsiling. Good thing they aren't very far apart so I could still have time to reach school.

77th Movement

Went to Shazly's house today, very very refreshing. Learnt things about er...Muslims today. The kueh we ate was also quite good, wish I could have more.

I never knew an average malay house could easily cost much more than a chinese one (I'm talking about furniture). And I believe Shazly's house is a comfortable Muslim life.

And yes, for the first time I saw a Koran. Repeat: SAW. I didn't touch it, Shazly didn't let me. I couldn't even understand a word it was saying, and Shazly says he doesn't really read much of it. o__0

If you hear shazly's life, you'd really admire him for being able to stay alive until now. On the outside he's just an average, Monday-soccer-playing kid whose problem seems just to be underweight. But when you really know him you'd want to be like him. The kind of determination and perserverance. He is what I'd call a real holy man for Allah.

If any Muslims out there take offence to what I said about him being a holy man for Allah...I'm sorry, jsut a burst of the moment...

I'm making little progress for the script, trying to draw inspirations from songs. Take my time, I say, PP posters are more important.
