107th Movement

Today is the last day of registration for the Children's Drama Workshop 2008...thank goodness...and the November's monthly skit is over, and today Geraldine asked me why I wasn't involved. "School", I said, "lots of poly work to do, couldn't come down for rehearsals". Then she asked why I left so early that day (because I left immediately after I packed the things up), "Still had poly work to do" I said.

But of course, I have to commit to the next monthly skit now, but unfortunately I'll be gone from the 16th to the 23rd, going to Korea, forgot to tell her but I'll try to commit time for the monthly skit.

Sometimes wondering whether leaving TOG is a good idea can lead to a lot of wild thoughts, a huge temptation. Because after all...they seem to handle themselves quite okay. =/

Humans beings are just like warm-up exercises, if you stretch a muscle for too long (specifically, at least 10 seconds, I think) it will suffer when you do sports. Similarly, when a person has been inside a team, group or an organization for too long, he/she will become a liability rather than an asset.

So one needs to know when he/she is a liability.

I Did Not Die

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle Autumn's rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft star that shines at night
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there;
I did not die.

106th Movement

I remembered I wanted to send this to the CC1 kids, but unfortunately I haven't done so. I will be sending it later =D (sorry for the poor quality)

Don't you just love it when these kind of young kids liven up your day with their weird antics and personalities? The amazing is that they don't even notice that they're brightening up your day and just keep on going and going and going.

That was how we were back then, we don't care about the entire world and just keep wanting to have fun, in every way possible.

I just want to thank the CC1s for making my life so much more brighter and meaningful, I can't explain it here, and its too personal as well to be mentioned on a blog. =)

Thank you.

Listening to Corrinne May songs while being in dream world, knowing that I'm not needed at the place I love the most and yet trying to understand where this is all going.

105th Movement

Christmas is here, and people are rushing around trying to save enough money and look out for the best presents to give their loved ones.

Christmas has become a time of giving, a season of spending time with your loved ones and laughing off every bad things that happened in the year, or years before. Presents are exchanged at parties and food is in abundance at every house, people get invitations or are busy writing out cards to friends and family overseas.

But really, do we actually celebrate Christmas for its true meaning?

The secular world has commercialised it so much that the only religious meaning behind it is going for midnight mass and listening to the sermon about how Christ was born. Prayer is pushed into the dead of the night and we are even embarassed to talk about Christ outside in public and street evangelists go missing (not saying that they are all good though).

Do we really know what Christmas is about? Or has it died down to discounted presents and free gifts at the deparmental stores? Has old Santa become the center of attention and the Christmas tree just a shelter for our wrapped boxes? (Don't get me wrong, giving is a good thing and it reflects the selfless giving of Christ to others, a small reflection of it.)

NO! I say those Catholics reading this have to WAKE UP! STOP thinking about how the presents turn out and how much they are going to cost because honestly, IT DOESN'T MATTER! And it isn't because "the thought counts" but rather because the center of attention is not Santa but JESUS CHRIST!

Please, I cannot emphasis how important this is or how you can improve your relationship with Christ this coming season, it is all up to you to either worship your Lord or focus on the PSP you're getting for Christmas.

Ah yes... went for the tune-in session at Millennia Institute...nice place and I didn't believe Shi Hua when she said that you can't miss it, in the end she was right. =P

It was rather nice to see what their band was like at MI...I won't say that it sucked or what, but there is still hope left in there...

Okay...YES, I haven't heard a tone that BAD before and such off-coordination. But...BUT there is still hope...

The saxophone section there seems quite cold though...and Shi Hua mentioned something about them: "They don't like other people coming into their section". I can understand, sometimes when someone better comes along, you just don't want them to appear in your life. Self-dis-illusionment? I should think so.

Besides, I took a few minutes to play a short two bars worth of solo when they took (I heard) a month. I don't want to make any comparisons here... =P

I'll be going off now...I just want to take time off to thank Shi Hua for bringing me back to a Symphonic Band...it's been a while since I played with people beside me...and on a chair...and with symphonic scores...and with towkays in front of me...

And Eileen Mummy and Jean were there too! =P

She was drowned in suicide
Faithless lover cast aside
This is how she came to be
Lorelei of the sea
Hopes destroyed, she wanted to find
Certain death, peace of mind
Now you wonder who is she,
Lorelei of the sea
Many tales I've been told of sailors having died
After seeing a mermaid known
Known as Lorelei
Faithless lover that is me
And she siren of the sea
So next time that the seagulls fly
Don't you cry sweet Lorelei

Seagulls fly
When mermaids cry
Those tears won't dry
For Lorelei

The guilt is mine I was untrue
The question is what am I to do
All I know is I got to try
Try to find sweet Lorelei
Make amends for what's been done
'Cause I believe that she's the one
And I will go where seagulls fly
Try to find sweet Lorelei

Seagulls fly
When mermaids cry
Those tears won't dry
For Lorelei

There she is I hear her cry
She's asking me if I will die
There ain't nothing I won't do
For you Lorelei

Seagulls fly
When mermaids cry
Those tears won't dry
For Lorelei

Whee...went to watch Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa on Wednesday with mum and sis and it was quite good, though also at the same time quite short. Of course, it is still a good movie to recommend.
And also, here are the answers to the video I uploaded...Shi Hua tried so so so hard... =P before she cheated.

In order:

Oscar (the trophy)
Happy Feet
Little Miss Sunshine
The Departed
The Devil Wears Prada
Snakes on a Plane (Martha Stewart said it out soooo loud)

And no, they are NOT naked when they make their dances.

101st Movement (continued)

Yeap, so this is Pretty Woman from the movie "Kal Ho Naa Ho" starring Preity Zita and my Bollywood idol: SHARUKH KHAN!!! WOOO!!!!

Oh, the quality here isn't good, but actually when I watched it on the DVD, it was great. The dance choreography is excellent (how do they get all that timing right?) and the lip synching is perfect, except maybe the english parts.

I'm watching another of his Bollywood movie, "Ohm Shanti Ohm" but unfortunately there isn't any subtitles, so I'll just watch it for entertainment, the fight scenes are nice, by the way.

I'll be uploading more videos on the way, so catch this blog while you can!!! HAHAHA...lameass...

101st Movement

I'm sitting here, typing this post with a cup of apple juice to my left and listening to Sunray Smile for the 13,467th time, I didn't count, it's just that its such a short song that I lost count.

Right, Children's Drama Workshop is just round the corner, so I guess there's going to be more hard work than before. I now this is the first time I blogged about this, but I'm sure some of you can keep up with my speed typing on this one. =D

So anyway, Beverley told me I'd no longer be I.C for Food anymore, and put Joel in charge of it instead. I don't blame her, after all, I'm just one of those useless bastards in her sight, one of those she can treat like a slave with noe feelings. But I shouldn't be complaining, because I treat some people like that sometimes, so it's time for a change.

And oh, I was listening to the tamil version of Pretty Woman on my iTunes and it was quite cool...I remember watching it on "Kal Ho Naa Ho", a Bollywood movie Nasrin let me watched last time. I also have the video downloaded from YouTube, but because I'm at home, I can't upload it on my blog because my house internet isn't that good. =/ I'll upload it tomorrow.

Sometimes I feel that I'm such a weird guy, doing weird things on my weird blog (wait, that didn't come out right). But it doesn't matter! As long as I'm happy!!! =D (I feel that that is what everyone should strive for anyway)

100th Movement

Now this is the 100th Movement, I have to start writing 3 digits instead of two now...=/ sian 1/2

Of course, its not a sad thing really...having made this far without much criticism is quite a good thing, and all those silent readers out there, thanks for er...silent reading.

I've deleted my 5 gig worth of music videos so I have space for others, and besides, I'll download videos and delete them after using it next time. But videos like game trailers I wanna keep them. And those for fun like this one:

Stupid, isn't it? But it really can pass time if you guys like, similar to the Pilobolous video...just for entertainment and passing time. It's quite interesting to watch these videos anyway, observe them and spot the different qualities that make it nice, since I'm making a film it'll be good to know anyway. =D

Okay, I'm just thinking from the top of my head and writing whatever things that come to mind, since beside me is Edric playing DoTA and you know how attracted I am to games like that...

So...so long and until next time! 100th Movement signing off!

Sunray Smile
Recorded by Amber Van Vleet

What a difference a sunray can make
in a world that's tired of the rain
What a difference a smile can make
in a heart that's filled with pain

She had a Sunray smile
Fairer then the spring or a rainbow
Sunray smile
Come to melt away the snow

The darkness of a shadow always flees
wherever a sunray is found
The darkness in a heart always leaves
when the glow of that smile is around

She had a Sunray smile
Fairer then the spring or a rainbow
Sunray smile
Come to melt away all the snow
In my heart today

99th Movement

You ever feel sometimes that life just isn't playing fair?

Like instead of throwing ONE dice it throws TWO die, and it's very very disturbing.

Life just seems to always get ahead of you, thinking one or two steps ahead and the main objective of life is just to screw you.
But coming to think of it, life isn't just emo and lonely. Sure, life is trying to screw you and your best friend is probably dating your girlfriend while your stock broker just ran off with your money accompanied by being expelled from your school BUT there is still more to life!

I once received an email (and heard of it too) that Angels are walking with us, but unfortunately some of them do not have wings, that's why we instead call them FRIENDS.

Having friends really can change a lot of things, it can change an entire day into something happy, into something useful in our lives. It can change an emo shit day into a day full of joy and laughter.

I should suppose that many people have many different interpretations of friends, remember that we always get an email saying things like "friends are will do this and this and that" and SMSes like "A good friend is like a bra, it holds tightly to your heart".

I guess that all people have their own way of saying what friends are, and what they do for them. There is no general definition for friends but the only thing that may link all these strangers together is their "desire of not wanting to see you in distress". Talking about other qualities, I guess it will be quite hard to think of what a friend would have.

To me, the best friend ever is probably a soul friend.

98th Movement

There comes a point of time in life where everything comes tumbling down on you. But one would have to understand that that is not God's doing, but rather one's own actions. It's a cause and effect thing, something we may all blame the Lord for.

I know 'cause life just crashed on me, but I noticed it happened because of what I failed to do in the past 10 months. But I'm not going to talk about it...

I've done some sypnopsis for the three films I was talking about in the latest FYP ADVENTURES. I'm doing this so at least I can create some hype for the sales... =/

The Boy who wanted to Change the World
Michael is a child who's had a rough time, he's only 12 and he's seen more than his fair share of life. Walking through torny bushes of his journey, he makes a plan elaborate for a 12-year old to start his world-changing campaign.
But why does he want to change the world? This film will leave you pondering on how he could have, would have changed the world.

Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla
Therese Pennefather is a normal RP girl, but when she gets rejected by every band in RP, she forms her own to show what she can really do.
Take the music from the 60s and replay them in your music players 'cause it's time to ROCK!

God Bless the Broken Road
A prelude to Anam Cara, this tells the story of Matthew and his younger sister Sarah. Their parents leaving them to save themselves from the poison of the world, but Matthew giving Sarah the hope that he can find.
What Matthew doesn't know is that Sarah is dying soon, sooner than he expected.

FYP Adventures

I have an idea of how I want to raise money for my FYP movie, but I'll have to start this year then.

Instead of selling tarts, cookies or paperclips (YES, some people sell PAPERCLIPS!!!) I'd sell CDs! And inside these CDs will be short films, a series of it. Actually it is just some titles that I had wanted to do for my FYP but got rejected (by myself!) and now it will be shortened...but I would have to find my FYP team first then! But seeing things as it is now, it wouldn't be easy.

Titles include:

The Boy who wanted to Change the World
Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla
God Bless the Broken Road

Yeap, please support! =D

97th Movement - 300th Post

300th post!!! Amazing that it has come so far (not the first time I'm saying it) since its first birth at faythrebirth.blogspot.com...it was rather childish back then, when all I thought of was myself and myself only. How retarded could that get?

Yesterday was jamming again after school...and it was quite refreshing...Charlene finally came and we heard her sing "Spell" by I don't know who. She has some sort of a sweet voice but she, as I can see has stage fright...not surprised...she's still young.

Bible Night is coming, and tomorrow is the last rehearsal...Bible Night is this Saturday, and I can't wait to see what the CC1s have done so far. But I really will regret everything if we don't do as well as the rest. =/

Yvonne has also asked me to give a talk on Spiritual Gifts, but I'm not qualified. Although I told her to tentatively put me as the speaker (oh no), but I'm going to get WOW to do this one...if possible...heh heh. But I'd really love to give the talk...

No more updates, for more information, go to...er...here... XP

96th Movement

Do we actually know what we are saying when we say "that doesn't make any sense!" or "what kind of logic is that?"

Just what is our standard of sense here? What does it mean for something to be "sensible" or "logical" to us? Must it be proven by sense? Must it be something seen before in order for us to make sense? Or is it something that is feasible or believeable? If it is so, where does God come in then?

Does God make any sense? Judging by the standards of the world, I should think many people would feel that God's miracles are "nonsense" or "illogical". But yet walk down into any church and ask if they believe in miracles of God and they go "yes, of course" but ask if they believed that there is a human with three eyes and six ears they go "what? That doesn't make any sense!"

Why is it so hard to believe a man can have three eyes and six ears? If we believe that God is all-powerful, why can't he make a man like that? Don't get me wrong, there's a difference between believing and gullibility. If I told you that God created a Satanic cult and you believe it, that's gullibility.

One must understand that we have faith in God not because we have to, but because we believed His words and what He did for our ancestors mentioned in the Bible. We must stop this mentality of "believe because we have to believe" and start to adopt the mentality of "God has done something for me, that is why I have faith in Him".

But yet we must also understand that God does miracles in a human way, a way that we understand. Not in a way that is too complex for us, the world today is quite dumb. He must have foreseen that the people of today will use science as their "God" to prove that God exists. I will touch on that later.

Let's give a few examples to see how God makes miracles human:

The parting of the Red Sea
Story: Moses and the Israelite slaves were escaping from the Egyptians, to save His people, God led them to the Red Sea. He ordered Moses to strike his staff on the ground and when he did, the sea parted and became dry land, allowing safe passage for the Israelites to cross.
Explanation: Scientists have discovered that at a certain time of the year, strong winds blow at the Red Sea, forcing it apart. The winds are so strong that it actually "parts" the Red Sea into dry land.

The Mysterious Staircase (some of you may not have heard this one)
Story: In the city of Santa Fe, back in the 19th Century, Loretto Chapel faced a difficulty of not having a staircase leading up to the top floor. The place was too cramped to construct a proper zig-zag staircase and there was no room for a pillar if a spiral staircase was to be built. They spent 9 days praying to St.Joseph, human father of Jesus Christ and carpenter. On the last day, a carpenter came forward and said he could built a staircase for them. And by himself, he constructed the staircase. This is the miraculous part: the stairs was constructed without any glue or nails and stood without a central support. The carpenter then mysteriously left without waiting for payment.
Explanation: Some have argued that the staircase can stand because of the pressure applied by the steps unto the center of the staircase. Like an eye of the tornado, the "central support" in there is actually the invisible force/pressure by the steps.
Miracles present (something extra):
1) The stairs was constructed without any glue or nails, it came as if it was a whole piece by itself
2) The stairs functioned without any visible central support
3) The wood could not be found in the entire region of Santa Fe
4) The stairs had 33 steps, the age of Christ when He died

Back to the entire topic, does all that make sense to you? Some of you may even say, "crazy carpenter, never get payment first", but please FOCUS on the miracles present there! None of them may have made sense to you at first, but after some "scientific" explanation, you may have said, "oooo...no wonder...". So who makes more sense, science or God?

Where is our faith in now? The faith in the fact that science can explain everything or the fact that God is the center of attention? Some scientists have managed to say that if there really was a God, he would be a ball of energy. Why? Because in order to create the universe, he would need energy. Here's my argument: BUT HE IS GOD!!! God can do supernatural things in His own little ways!!! Just a breath of His and life can be made. Just what is wrong with all you science freaks?

It is time to see where our faith lies, does it tilt to our version of "sensibility" or does it tilt more to God's "sensibility"?

95th Movement

2nd November 2008.

17th Birthday of the Theatre of Gifts.

It's really amazing how it got this far, how TOG actually managed to crawl through shit holes and got dirt thrown in its face and yet still survive until today. We should be expecting more dirt in our lives but TOG would most probably make it through. =]

But for now, TOG is crumpling.

There is no discipline, there is no right attitude for the right time. God has been thrown out of the window and the people are following their own ideals.

No one can save TOG now, not even Kevin and Geraldine. TOG, sooner or later, will be torn apart and cease to exist.

And what Kevin and Geraldine painstakingly built will be all but a photo album on a blog or on a friendster page.

But we must always do what is right, because it is right.

FYP Adventures

With the Professional Profiling Presentation OFFICIALLY out of the way, I can concentrate on other things like my FINAL YEAR PROJECT!!!

I have let Joel and Nasrin review the script already, and of course as you can see from the tagboard they are positive comments (Justin...don't get cocky). I'm going to finish this script at least before the end of the first FYP.

Finding people for this is also very very difficult, since almost everyone is lazy to do a feature film or are even interested in the same ideals at all.

But I know that I cannot be discouraged...the objective of the film is what I must strive for...did I tell you guys about it? No? Oh, 'cause I didn't say it...anyway, every film has a message, some hidden meaning (usually good) behind every funny scene, behind every crying scene.

So...This is what I aim for:

To tell people that YOU CANNOT SURVIVE IN THIS WORLD WITHOUT LOVE.

It's a very basic message because after all, I'm still an amateur no matter how many praises I get, so don't any one of you complain.

And I'm actually thinking of using the tamil version of Pretty Woman in it.

Speaking about songs, I'll probably just list down some of the songs that I want to use in it.

(not arranged in chronological order)

I've Never Been To Me - Charlene
The Great Escape - Boys Like Girls
What Sarah Said - Death Cab for Cutie
Down by the Lake - McFly
Met This Girl - McFly
Anak (Child) - Freddie Aguilar
Sunray Smile - Daniel Gardner
How Six Songs Collide - Norwegian Recycling

Tentative songs:

Accidentally in Love - Counting Crows
Scars (Stronger for Life) - Corrinne May
Pretty Woman (Tamil Version) - ???
He Will Come and Save You - Women of Worship

Good, update finished, will go back to my script.

Random tune

This is my escape
I'm running through this world and I'm not looking back
And I know I can go where no one's ever gone and I'm not looking back
But how will I know when I get there?
And how will I know when to leave?
We've all got to start from somewhere
It's right there for me
The possibilities are never-ending

I see it
I see it now
It's all within my reach
I see it
I see it now
It's always been inside of me
Endless Possibility

You're losing speed, you're losing your flow, but inside is a power you'll never know!
Runnin' out it's inside you! You'd better all step back 'cause I'm comin' through!
