105th Movement

Christmas is here, and people are rushing around trying to save enough money and look out for the best presents to give their loved ones.

Christmas has become a time of giving, a season of spending time with your loved ones and laughing off every bad things that happened in the year, or years before. Presents are exchanged at parties and food is in abundance at every house, people get invitations or are busy writing out cards to friends and family overseas.

But really, do we actually celebrate Christmas for its true meaning?

The secular world has commercialised it so much that the only religious meaning behind it is going for midnight mass and listening to the sermon about how Christ was born. Prayer is pushed into the dead of the night and we are even embarassed to talk about Christ outside in public and street evangelists go missing (not saying that they are all good though).

Do we really know what Christmas is about? Or has it died down to discounted presents and free gifts at the deparmental stores? Has old Santa become the center of attention and the Christmas tree just a shelter for our wrapped boxes? (Don't get me wrong, giving is a good thing and it reflects the selfless giving of Christ to others, a small reflection of it.)

NO! I say those Catholics reading this have to WAKE UP! STOP thinking about how the presents turn out and how much they are going to cost because honestly, IT DOESN'T MATTER! And it isn't because "the thought counts" but rather because the center of attention is not Santa but JESUS CHRIST!

Please, I cannot emphasis how important this is or how you can improve your relationship with Christ this coming season, it is all up to you to either worship your Lord or focus on the PSP you're getting for Christmas.
